Here at My Home Stereo we are not only concerned with getting the best sound at home but also when you are on the run. True wireless earbuds are the best bet for people on the go. You can use them working out, chilling on your commute, or hanging out by the pool. To get some with a great sound, you are going to spend a little more. These tend to be bigger in size so you’ll need to find some that fit well in your ear. In this article we look at some of the best sounding true wireless earbuds available this year. When we say true wireless, we mean no connecting wires anywhere. So take a look and hopefully you see a pair that will fit your needs.
Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2
These are a second-generation earbud from Sennheiser. Better than the originals, they have a smaller, more comfortable design. They also have active noise cancelling that competes well with the AirPods Pro. The battery life has improved to seven hours and the noise reduction is better during calls.
These have an excellent sound that beats the AirPods Pro and appear at the top of multiple best-of lists. These may actually be the best on the market right now but they do cost around $300.

Sony WF-1000XM3 True Wireless Earbuds
Sony hasn’t been in this market very long but these true wireless earbuds have great sound and are one of the best sounding wireless earbuds at their $228 price tag. The sound quality and performance compete well and beat some of the other major players.
One feature that most other models don’t have is active noise cancellation to reduce ambient noise. They’re not as good as the Sennheiser’s or AirPods Pro when making phone calls and they aren’t rated for sweat and water resistance.
Overall though, these are great earbuds that combine great musicality along with great noise cancellation technology.
Jabra Elite 75t
So the Jabra Elite 75t is an upgrade to the excellent 65t. Some difference are that these have a smaller size, longer battery life which is closer to its competition, and USB-C charging. The Elite 75t earbuds do not have noise cancellation but do have a better overall sound than the AirPods Pro including a better bass definition. Their sound is also a step up from the 65t while using the same drivers.
The smaller size should give a better fit which is important to getting the best sound quality.
Beats PowerBeats Pro
So the Beats PowerBeats Pro may be the best earbuds that Apple makes. They’re really comfortable, have a great sound, and won’t fall out of your ear. They incorporate all the great features used in AirPods but have a richer sound a longer battery life. If you had to choose between AirPods and these, the PowerBeats Pro may be the way to go.
Cambridge Audio Melomania 1
Cambridge Audio has produced high quality high-end audio equipment for some time now. They have now joined the world of true wireless earbuds with the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1.
These earbuds have 45 total hours of battery life and an audio quality that rivals some of the best over-the-ear headphones, quite a feat. They are backed by Graphene-enhanced 5.8mm drivers producing a dynamic and powerful performance.
Also included are MEMS microphones and Qualcomm’s Clear Voice Capture noise-cancelling technology.
Apple Airpods Pro
Well there’s a reason we keep comparing the others to the Apple Airpods Pro. These are great earbuds and perfect for Apple fans. Apple’s most recent earbud effort brings active noise cancellation and a fit that’s much better than the previous iteration hoping to appeal to more iPhone users.
There has also been improvement in the sound quality with a noticeable emphasis on vocals and bass. One thing that keeps them from being at the very top is their price which is steep at $249. For iPhone users though, these may be a good choice if you’re looking for some earbuds that fit well and have a high sound quality.
The Bose Soundsport earbuds are a high-end pair with a lot going for them. They have a great audio experience utilizing high-end sound technology and are competitive sound-wise to some over-the-ear options. They are totally wireless including the charging case and have a strong battery life with 5 hours of playing time with an extra 10 hours courtesy of the case.
These buds can be paired with Bose’s Connect app and has a ‘find my buds’ feature in case one of them runs off (gets misplaced). The Bose Soundsport are easy to operate, extremely well-constructed, and are great for voice calls utilizing an integrated dual-microphone array on the right bud.
Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus
The Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus are very similar to the original Galaxy Buds but have a better battery life rated at 11 hours and now with dual drivers have a better sound. The sound is more spacious than the original Galaxy Buds and is also richer with a deeper more defined bass. The sound quality is comparable to what you get with the Jabra Elite 75t and maybe slightly better.
Samsung has also added an additional microphone in each bud to help with making calls and reducing external noise, and they are water-resistant. Of course these pair well with the many other Samsung Galaxy devices.
You may also want to check out their latest release the Galaxy Buds Live which has been reviewed on this site. Being such a new product, not many comparisons have been made yet but you’ll want to check them out if you are a Galaxy user.
